Our team works with builders, architects and engineers to ensure conformance with applicable codes during construction, repairs and alteration of structures and buildings within New Albany. Please note that all general contractors and sub-contractors who work within the jurisdication of New Albany are required to register annually with the Community Development Department.
Plan Review Process
Permit applications are subject to a zoning and building review process. Building and zoning checklists are available to assist with providing a complete application and reduce the number of days for plan review.
New Albany offers residential and commercial phased plan review meetings for alterations, repairs, additions and exterior only projects. Please contact the Development Department office to determine if your project qualifies. Residential meetings will be scheduled on Monday mornings and Commercial meetings will be scheduled on Thursday mornings. Please call at least a week in advance to schedule a meeting. We have a limited number of meetings available each week.
New Albany has a dedicated inspection line to accommodate your construction schedule and ensure your project stays on task. Please call 614.939.2222 to schedule structural, HVAC and electrical inspections.
