July 4th Activities Include Community Picnic and Picture
Picnic and picture added to evening events, reviving 100 year old tradition
Thanks to the New Albany Community Events Board, the July 4th Parade will begin near the New Albany Middle School parking lot at 10:00 am. The parade route turns right onto Route 62, right onto Market Street, and right onto to Dublin-Granville Road back to the middle school parking lot. Contact parade co-chair Laurie Clouse (firstname.lastname@example.org; 614.736.1666) for more information.
After the parade, the evening festival and fireworks program begins at the high school at 5:00 pm. This year’s festival will include a community picnic, sponsored by the New Albany – Plain Township Historical Society and Community Events Board, at 5:30 pm. A community panoramic picture will be taken at the picnic, reviving a tradition from 100 years ago. Bring your picnic basket or buy food from local vendors, listen to Big Daddy Blue during the picnic, and then take part in the community photo at 6:30 pm! After the community photo, the Street Players band will play from 7:00 – 10:00 pm, and fireworks will begin at 10:00 pm.
