Strategic Plan Community Meeting Set for Tuesday, January 29 at Library
All are welcome when the City of New Albany hosts its second public meeting to engage the community about the progress of the city’s draft strategic plan update. This public meeting will occur Tuesday, January 29, from 6:30 – 8:00 pm, at the New Albany Public Library.
Since its adoption in 1998, our strategic plan has helped to preserve New Albany’s architectural character; protect our greenways; foster job growth; encourage sustainable development; and enhance the Village Center, our physical and emotional core. Our community focus on the Village Center in particular has produced a pedestrian-friendly mixed use core, our library, the McCoy Center and commercial and residential projects that continue to create new retail and restaurant options.
The basic elements of this updated draft plan include land use; transportation and open space; economic development; and design/sustainability. Each of these elements plays a role in physically and emotionally connecting with our residents and business partners.
